The creative vision for The Hart Lodge emerged from a passion for influential French interior designers and historical formal European gardens.

As a young woman I travelled throughout Europe and returned passionate about scale and brimming with fabulous ideas. Inspirations brought about by my travels were stamped in my memory forever and this particular acreage and site offered seemingly endless opportunities to express these design elements.

I wanted our guests to enter the lodge and experience a modern New Zealand lifestyle, offering comfort delightfully contrasted with an eclectic collection of European furnishings selected for their elegance, sophistication and sense of timeless existence.

The lodge proudly stands on a ridge overlooking a valley offering panoramic vistas of a vibrant green landscape beset with leafy trees displaying a mélange of seasonal colours.  The formal French flavour is evident with a variety with charming water fountains, clipped hedges, urns and axial walkways.

The guests will experience spacious suites with an adjoining lounge or library, an ensuite and private keyed entry. The boutique style of The Hart is evident in the unique designer accessories and antique furnishings.
